I made this 65″x65″ quilt in February 2010. To provide additional definition to the quilting, two layers of Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting were used (not recommended as this is heavy). The appliqued blocks have the appliques outline stitched, and then a swirly fill is stitched around them. The sashings (purple) are done in a swirl & feather design. The printed blocks have a feathered heart stitched. The outer borders have a meandering feather quilted along them. Coordinating Superior SoFine thread colors were selected for the white, aqua and purple fabrics. This quilt is published in the May 2010 edition of Machine Quilting Unlimited magazine.
