A quatrefoil shape is one in which rounded lobes extend from a basic square design. The Arabesque Quatrefoil template measures 3-3/4″ x 10″, fitting comfortably in a quilter’s hand and on the ruler base of a long arm machine. This template has two different shaped curves, labeled A & B for clarity. One of the curves has a larger rounded shape than the other. There are etched 1/4″ curves for stitching both 1/4″ and 1/2″ echos of the base curves.
This template is best used for creating elegant curved frames. The “A” curve is capable of quilting frames between 9″x 9″ to 12″x 12″. The “B” curve can quilt frames between 7″x 7″ to 11″x 11″. Note that frames can be enlarged beyond these maximum sizes by adding straight stitching beyond the width of the template.
